GO Ultra is designed for situations where a conventional handheld camera may be restrictive. Its compact standalone camera can be worn using the Magnet Pendant or Magnetic Easy Clip, attached to compatible magnetic accessories or positioned at creative angles for immersive first-person footage.

This hands-free format is useful for recording daily activities, travel, cycling, sports, cooking, family moments and behind-the-scenes content while allowing the user to remain involved in the activity.

4K60fps Video and 50MP Photography

The camera records conventional 16:9 video at up to 4K60fps for detailed action footage. It can also capture 4K video in 4:3 and cinematic 2.35:1 aspect ratios, depending on the selected recording mode.

Still photographs can be captured at up to 50MP with a resolution of 8192 × 6144. Additional 37MP, 12MP and 9MP options support different aspect ratios and storage requirements.

Large Sensor with AI Imaging

A 1/1.28-inch sensor and 5nm AI chip improve image processing and low-light performance within the compact camera body. An ambient-light sensor helps the camera adjust exposure and colour according to surrounding conditions.

PureVideo applies AI-powered noise reduction and dynamic-range processing when filming in dim environments. PureVideo supports up to 4K30fps, while standard video recording supports up to 4K60fps.

Active HDR for Challenging Lighting

Active HDR helps retain additional detail in bright and dark areas when recording moving subjects or high-contrast scenes. It is useful for outdoor activities, backlit environments and situations where lighting conditions change quickly.

Active HDR can be enabled at resolutions up to 4K30fps. Available resolution and frame-rate combinations depend on the selected shooting mode.

FlowState Stabilisation and Horizon Lock

FlowState Stabilisation reduces visible camera shake during walking, running, riding and other movement. The accompanying 360° Horizon Lock helps keep the exported footage level even when the camera rotates during recording.

These technologies provide smoother results without requiring a mechanical gimbal.

Multifunctional Action Pod

The included Action Pod provides a 2.5-inch flip touchscreen for framing, reviewing footage and changing camera settings. It can continue displaying the camera view when the standalone camera is detached, allowing remote monitoring and control.

The flip-screen design supports conventional handheld filming, front-facing vlogging, low-angle compositions and remotely positioned camera shots.

Magnetic Mounting System

GO Ultra has a built-in magnetic mounting system that enables quick attachment to compatible Insta360 accessories and suitable metal surfaces. The Standard Bundle includes a Magnet Pendant, Magnetic Easy Clip and Quick Release Safety Cord for wearable and hands-free recording.

Mounting accessories should always be secured correctly before high-speed or high-impact activities. The safety cord should be used where there is a risk of the camera becoming detached.

Expandable microSD Storage

Unlike earlier GO-series models with fixed internal storage, GO Ultra records to a removable microSD card. Cards with capacities up to 2TB are supported, allowing users to replace a full card and continue recording without transferring the existing footage first.

A microSD card is required and sold separately unless explicitly included in the selected bundle. Use a card that meets Insta360’s current speed and compatibility recommendations.

Extended Battery Life and Fast Charging

The standalone camera provides up to approximately 70 minutes of recording, while using it with the Action Pod can extend total operating time to approximately 200 minutes. These figures are based on Insta360’s controlled 1080p24fps Endurance Mode testing with the screen and Wi-Fi disabled.

The standalone camera can recharge to 80% in approximately 12 minutes through a sufficiently charged Action Pod. The Action Pod can reach 80% in approximately 18 minutes using a compatible PD3.0 PPS USB-C charger.

Actual recording and charging times depend on resolution, frame rate, temperature, wireless functions, screen usage and operating conditions.

Waterproof Standalone Camera

The standalone GO Ultra camera is IPX8 waterproof to 10 metres. This supports recording during swimming, rain and other water-based activities without an additional housing.

The Action Pod is only IPX4 splashproof and should not be submerged. Insta360 recommends the compatible AquaLens for improved underwater image quality and a Dive Case for deeper underwater recording.

Audio and Bluetooth Microphone Support

GO Ultra provides automatic wind-noise reduction, voice enhancement and original-audio recording options. It can also connect directly to selected Bluetooth microphones and earphones, including compatible Insta360, DJI and Apple devices.

Microphone compatibility and supported functions may depend on the camera firmware and exact accessory model.

AI-Assisted Editing

The Insta360 mobile application provides automatic editing, subject identification, creative templates and content-generation tools. FreeFrame Video allows the final aspect ratio and framing to be adjusted during export, helping creators prepare horizontal or vertical content from the same recording.
