Size the recording workload

The 100-camera limit is not available for every resolution and frame-rate combination. For example, published H.265 limits are 100 channels at 1080p or 50 channels at 4K. Aggregate frame-rate limits and simultaneous analytics also apply. Plan the system using your exact cameras, recording settings and retention requirements.

Add intelligence to compatible cameras

Configure supported people and vehicle detection, counting, intrusion, face recognition or licence plate recognition tasks. The maximum is 40 for selected detection/counting tasks and 20 for face or licence plate recognition. Accuracy depends on camera position, lighting and image quality.

Budget for camera licences

DVA7400 includes two Surveillance Station device licences. Additional cameras generally need separate licences, subject to the recorder's supported device rules. The maximum camera capacity describes system capability, not a bundle of 100 licences.

Select storage for retention and recovery

Populate the twelve bays with compatible SATA HDDs or SSDs and choose a supported RAID configuration. No user storage drives are included. Recording duration depends on capacity, RAID, codec, bitrate and schedule. Keep important exported footage or backups on a separate destination.

Plan rack, memory and power

Use the compatible RKS-02 sliding rail kit for rack installation, sold separately. The 578mm-deep chassis weighs 12.24kg without drives. Optional D4EU02-16G 16GB ECC UDIMM supports expansion to 32GB using matched modules; install identical part numbers together. Redundant power protects against a power supply failure, not a complete site power outage.

Manage multiple sites and users

Surveillance Station provides supported centralised monitoring, event management and client access. Use role-based permissions and compatible network security settings. Cameras, power equipment, storage and any additional service subscriptions are separate.
