In addition to conventional PVC cards, the CS-270e supports compatible transparent cards for distinctive identification, membership and promotional applications. Its modular design allows organisations to add automatic dual-sided printing, network connectivity and card encoding when required.

300 dpi Direct-to-Card Printing

The CS-270e uses dye-sublimation technology to apply full-colour images directly to compatible plastic cards. Its 300 dpi continuous-tone output supports photographs, logos, text, barcodes and other identification elements.

Full-colour YMCKO cards print in approximately 21 seconds, while resin-black cards take approximately 4.5 seconds under HiTi’s specified test conditions.

Transparent Plastic Card Printing

Unlike conventional card printers limited to standard opaque cards, the CS-270e supports compatible transparent cards. This allows organisations to create distinctive membership cards, event passes, promotional cards and branded credentials with transparent design elements.

Card material and surface compatibility should be confirmed before volume production.

Standard CR-80 Card Handling

The printer supports standard CR-80 cards used for employee badges, student cards, membership cards and access credentials. Its standard input hopper holds up to 100 cards, while the output hopper accommodates up to 50 completed cards.

A low-card notification can alert the operator when the remaining card quantity drops below the configured threshold.

RFID-Tagged Printing Ribbons

CS-270e ribbons incorporate RFID tags for consumable identification and management. Available options include:

• Full-panel YMCKO ribbon for up to 400 cards
• Half-panel YMCKO ribbon for up to 560 cards
• Resin-black ribbon for up to 1,000 cards

Ribbon yield depends on the card design, printer settings and operating conditions.

Optional Dual-Sided Printing

The standard CS-270e prints on one side of the card. An optional flipper module enables automatic dual-sided production for cards requiring photographs or credentials on the front and additional information, barcodes or terms on the reverse.

The flipper module is sold separately unless included in the selected printer configuration.

Optional Card Encoding

The printer can be expanded with optional modules for magnetic-stripe, contact smart-card and contactless RFID card encoding. This supports applications where printed credentials must also store electronic identity or access information.

Encoder compatibility should be verified against the intended cards, application software and access-control system before deployment.

USB and Optional Network Connectivity

USB 2.0 is included for direct connection to a compatible computer. An optional Ethernet module enables the printer to be accessed through a local network.

HiTi CardDésiréé CS software is provided for Windows-based card layout, database connection and batch-print management. Current driver compatibility should be checked before deployment with a specific operating-system version.
