Bring Wired Alarm Zones into UniFi Protect
The Ubiquiti UP-AlarmHub-Kit brings wired intrusion sensors into UniFi Protect through a wall-mounted alarm hub with up to 32 alarm zones and a separate emergency input. It suits sites upgrading an existing wired sensor installation or planning a new managed alarm system. PoE++ or PoE+++ supplies network connectivity and power, while two configurable relays support connected alarm equipment. Optional 12V SLA battery backup helps maintain operation when the primary supply is interrupted.
Highlights
Wired Alarm Integration
- Up to 32 alarm sensor inputs plus one emergency input.
- Supports end-of-line resistors from 1–5.6kΩ.
Power and Output Control
- PoE++ or PoE+++ input with a PoE+ output.
- Two wet/dry relays and auxiliary 12V sensor power.
Managed Indoor Installation
- Wall-mounted steel enclosure with tamper detection.
- Optional 12V SLA backup battery support.
Key Features
Keep Existing Wired Sensors in the Plan
Use the hub to bring compatible wired intrusion zones into UniFi Protect. Check the sensors' contact behaviour, wiring and power requirements before connection. Supported end-of-line resistance is 1–5.6kΩ, with 1kΩ resistors included for zone supervision.
Control Connected Alarm Equipment
Two relays can be set for wet or dry operation. Wet mode supplies 12V DC at up to 1A; dry contacts are rated at 30V DC and 1A. Select and configure external equipment within those ratings. Auxiliary power is shared within each bank of three sensor outputs.
Choose the Right PoE Budget
PoE++ input provides a listed 42W output budget; PoE+++ increases it to 68W. The hub also has a 30W PoE+ output. Plan the combined sensor and downstream load against the chosen input supply rather than treating each output as an independent full-power allowance.
Plan Optional Battery Backup
A separately supplied 12V SLA battery connects to the backup input, with charging specified at 0.3A. Battery capacity and connected loads determine runtime. Neither a backup battery nor a guaranteed backup duration is included in this listing.
Check the Protect Setup Before Installation
Use a suitable UniFi console running Protect 7.0.88 or later. The mobile minimums are iOS 3.3.0 and Android 3.2.0. The kit is for indoor wall installation; compatible sensors, primary PoE power equipment and a Protect console are supplied separately.
Summary
UP-AlarmHub-Kit is a practical bridge between wired intrusion sensors and a managed UniFi Protect installation. Size the sensor loads, relay equipment and optional battery backup to the site, then use the included enclosure and mounting hardware for an organised indoor deployment.
