100G Connectivity for Campus Aggregation

Thirty-two QSFP28 interfaces connect suitable aggregation switches and other high-speed network equipment. Support for 40G links provides a migration path for compatible existing connections. Match each transceiver or direct attach cable to the required speed, distance and equipment compatibility; link accessories are separate purchases.

MC-LAG for Resilient Links

Multi-chassis link aggregation allows a compatible downstream connection to span two switches. This supports a topology that can retain connectivity when one link or chassis becomes unavailable. MC-LAG requires a suitably configured switch pair and compatible downstream link aggregation; resilience depends on the complete network path.

Local Routing and Traffic Control

Inter-VLAN routing carries traffic between local network segments, while static routes define paths to other networks. DHCP server and relay functions support address allocation. ACLs, network isolation and DHCP snooping help administrators control device connectivity and local traffic.

Replaceable Power and Cooling

Two 550 W power modules and five fan modules are hot-swappable, simplifying component replacement without removing the entire chassis. Power redundancy complements a resilient topology. Suitable upstream power protection, rack ventilation and operating conditions still need to be planned.

Port Identification and UniFi Management

Etherlighting helps technicians identify connections during installation and maintenance. The touchscreen provides local visibility, while Ethernet and serial-console interfaces support administration. UniFi Network version 10.6.101 or later is required.

Rack and Backbone Planning

The full-depth 1U chassis requires a four-post rack, or a centre-mount bracket or cantilever shelf in a two-post rack. Assess the 100G interfaces on the Enterprise Campus Aggregation switch when designing the campus hierarchy, and confirm optical or DAC compatibility for each connection.
