Seagate Expansion Desktop USB-C External Hard Drive

Dedicated Space for Photos Video and Desktop Archives

Seagate Expansion Desktop is an external hard drive for larger photo libraries, video collections and work files. This version connects to a USB-C computer using the supplied cable and includes its own power adapter, making it a practical choice for a fixed desk setup with capacity options from 4TB to 30TB.

Highlights

Capacity for Larger Collections

• Choose 4TB, 8TB, 16TB, 20TB, 24TB or 30TB to match your storage needs.

USB-C Computer Connection

• Includes a 0.8M cable with USB Micro-B at the drive and USB-C at the computer.

Its Own Desktop Power Supply

• The included external power adapter powers the drive independently of the computer’s USB port.

Key Features

Keep Larger File Libraries Together

Store photographs, video footage, documents and completed projects on a dedicated desktop drive. It gives larger collections room outside the computer’s internal storage and makes a useful place to organise an archive by project or date.

Connect to a Compatible USB-C Computer

The supplied cable connects the drive’s USB Micro-B data port to a computer’s USB-C port. The two connector types are different: USB-C describes the computer end of the included cable.

Power from the Included Adapter

Connect the external power adapter as well as the data cable. This model uses a separate power supply, so the computer’s USB-C port is used for data rather than powering the hard drive.

Storage for Windows and Mac Workflows

Use Expansion Desktop with compatible Windows or macOS systems for everyday file storage. Compatibility depends on the computer hardware and operating system, so select a setup that supports the drive and your intended workflow.

Plan Space for Your Growing Archive

Select capacity around the files you already have and the collections you expect to add. For backup use, retain the originals or another independent copy of important files; moving the only copy onto an external drive does not create a backup.

Summary

Expansion Desktop suits users who want substantial storage at their desk, a supplied cable for a USB-C computer and a dedicated power adapter. Choose the capacity that gives your photos, footage and work archive room to grow.
