Dual Sony Sensors with 1-Inch Imaging

The Insta360 X6 uses two Sony custom 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensors. Their 4:3 sensor configuration provides an imaging area equivalent to a 1-inch sensor when capturing 360° content.

The larger imaging area and 2.44 μm effective pixel size at 8K help capture more light, finer detail and cleaner colour across bright, dark and mixed-light environments.

Triple AI Chip System

A Qualcomm 4 nm AI processor works with two dedicated imaging chips to manage image processing, stitching, stabilisation and noise reduction.

This processing architecture supports high-resolution recording while improving colour reproduction and low-light performance.

8K50fps 360° Video

X6 records immersive 360° video at up to 8K50fps. Every direction is captured simultaneously, allowing creators to choose the camera angle, field of view and aspect ratio after recording.

Additional 360° recording options include 6K60fps and 4K100fps, while Bullet Time supports up to 8K100fps, 6K120fps or 4K240fps.

120MP 360° Photography

Capture detailed 120MP panoramic photographs at a resolution of 15,520 × 7,760. These high-resolution images are suitable for travel, landscapes, property documentation, virtual tours and immersive visual content.

In Flat Mode, the camera captures photographs at up to 42MP.

PureVideo and AdaptiveTone 2.0

PureVideo combines the camera’s larger sensors, ambient-light sensors and AI-assisted processing to reduce noise and preserve detail in low-light environments.

AdaptiveTone 2.0 independently meters light through each lens before applying tone mapping across the complete 360° image. This helps retain highlight and shadow detail when lighting differs between directions.

10-Bit I-Log and Dolby Vision

X6 supports 10-bit colour with more than 1.07 billion colours, providing smoother gradients and greater flexibility for professional editing.

I-Log preserves additional highlight and shadow information for colour grading, while native in-camera Dolby Vision provides optimised contrast, brightness and colour in compatible recording modes and workflows.

Shoot First and Reframe Later

Because X6 captures every direction, creators can focus on the activity instead of continuously aiming the camera. Viewing angles and aspect ratios can be selected afterwards using the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio.

The same recording can be exported in horizontal, vertical, square or cinematic formats for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms.

InstaFrame 2.0

InstaFrame 2.0 can produce a ready-to-share 4K flat video while retaining an 8K 360° recording for future reframing.

Its intelligent tracking can follow people, animals or other subjects, helping users produce conventional flat videos without manually editing the complete 360° recording.

Flat and Ultra-Wide Video

X6 can operate as a conventional single-lens action camera, recording flat video at up to 5K60fps or 4K120fps.

Its widest 170° field of view is available at up to 5K30fps. At 5K60fps, the maximum field of view is 132°.

PanoMind and AI Editing

Insta360 PanoMind analyses compatible 360° footage to identify subjects, viewing angles and key moments.

AI Director can process footage while the camera is charging and deliver an automatically edited clip to a connected phone. Auto Edit 2.0 can also apply framing, camera movement, cuts, music and transitions to selected clips.

Replaceable Lenses 2.0

The Replaceable Lenses 2.0 system allows damaged external lens components to be replaced without sending the complete camera for routine lens replacement.

The updated lenses are designed for improved scratch resistance and easier installation. Replacement Lens Kits are sold separately.

OLED Touchscreen and Built-In Storage

The 2.32-inch OLED touchscreen provides high contrast, up to 1,200 nits peak brightness and an Always-On Display for improved outdoor visibility.

Xtreme Battery and Fast Charging

The 2,600 mAh removable Xtreme Battery provides up to approximately 140 minutes of 8K30fps recording under Insta360 laboratory conditions.

With a compatible 30 W PD 3.0 PPS charger, the battery can charge from 0% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes or reach 100% in approximately 35 minutes.

Waterproof to 20 Metres

The IP68-rated camera is waterproof to 20 metres without an additional housing when all battery and connector covers are correctly closed.

The separately available Invisible Dive Case Pro supports depths of up to 60 metres and is recommended for improved underwater refraction and stitching performance.

360 Windproof Audio

New 360 windproof microphones capture sound from every direction while reducing unwanted outdoor wind noise.
