DisplayPort Alternate Mode over USB-C The adapter uses the host’s USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode capability to carry video. It is not a USB graphics card that adds video to a data-only port. Confirm the computer’s port specification before ordering. HDMI 2.0 Capability HDMI 2.0 support accommodates the documented 4K60 output. EDID helps the connected equipment identify available display modes. Content, display capabilities and the host still determine the available picture settings. Straightforward Plug-and-Play Use Connect the adapter to a compatible host and attach an HDMI display cable. No additional adapter software is specified for the documented Windows, macOS and ChromeOS hosts. The computer must still support the required native video function. At 26.34 g, it can travel with the computer rather than needing a permanent place on the desk. Powered by the Host USB bus power supplies the adapter without a separate mains connection. Its stated consumption is 140 mA at 5 V DC. The adapter provides HDMI output; it does not provide USB-C pass-through charging or extra USB peripheral ports.
