The Ubiquiti G3 Fingerprint Reader brings fingerprint, keypad and contactless entry to a UniFi Access installation. It suits offices and shared premises where different users prefer different credentials. An Ethernet PoE connection carries power and data, while Black and White finishes let you match the reader to the entrance.

Key Features
Fingerprint access for regular users
The capacitive sensor gives enrolled users an entry method without presenting a card or phone. The stated capacity is measured as 300 fingerprints. Confirm enrolment arrangements for the people who need access and retain suitable alternative credentials for your site.
A physical keypad for PIN entry
The built-in keypad provides another way to enter when a user prefers a code. UniFi Access manages the PIN assigned to each user and supports fixed or variable PIN-length settings. This physical keypad should not be confused with the touchscreen keypad used on Reader Pro models.
Contactless cards and keyfobs
NFC operates at 13.56MHz with a read range below 30mm. UniFi Access Cards and Pocket Keyfobs are compatible choices. Suitable third-party NFC cards require registration and the relevant Access setting; support for NFC formats does not mean an existing card of any frequency will work.
Mobile Unlock and wallet credentials
Mobile Unlock uses Bluetooth Low Energy with UniFi Endpoint, including Mobile Button and Mobile Tap. Touch Pass is a separate wallet credential that lets a compatible iPhone, Apple Watch or Android phone tap the reader. Google Wallet Touch Pass currently excludes Wear OS; device and regional support still apply.
Understand Touch Pass licensing
Ubiquiti offers a one-time grant of ten one-year trial Touch Passes per eligible console when its first compatible reader is adopted. Buying another reader does not create another ten-pass grant. Additional passes and renewals use per-user subscriptions, so include those costs when planning wallet access.
Complete the door system
Connect through a compatible PoE Access hub, such as the UniFi Door Hub (UA-Hub-Door). The hub operates the lock relay; this reader does not control a lock by itself. The hub, compatible electric lock, Access console and suitable Ethernet cabling are required separately.
Mount to suit the entrance
Included mounting plates, trim and fixings support wall and gang-box installations. An optional UACC-Reader-JB junction box provides another mounting choice. The polycarbonate and aluminium alloy enclosure has speaker and RGBW status feedback; follow the installation guide for cable routing and outdoor fitting.
Check software before deployment
This model currently requires UniFi OS 6.0 RC. Confirm a suitable console, Access application and reader firmware before installation, and assess whether release-candidate software fits the deployment. This reader provides credential entry; it is not a camera intercom or a standalone door controller.
Summary
Choose the G3 Fingerprint Reader for managed fingerprint, PIN and contactless entry using PoE Ethernet. It combines practical credential choices with compact mounting, provided the required hub, door hardware and software are planned together.
